NGOs come together to celebrate International Day for older persons in Chennai
The organizations have been helping around 300 elderly people in eight locations in Chennai following the lockdown.
Mr.Arulraj from Karunai Ullangal has organised this one-day event MUDHIYAVARGALUM KULAINDHAIGALEY in parts of Chennai in order to fulfil the needs of elderly
The aim of the event is to bring back the happiness of old people by making feel wanted by others. Elderly people should be taken care like a child is the sole purpose of the event. These elderly people aged between 60-90 are taken care of by different NGOs in various parts of the city.
A team of more than 15 NGOs headed by Arulraj from Karunai Ullangal has helped the life of 300 elderly people of more than 250 volunteers involved in 8 locations Kundrathur, Kodambakkam, Saidapet, St. Thomas Mount, Valasarawakkam, Sembakkam, Thiruunandriyur and Thirumullaivoyal. The team of more than 15 NGOs has raised money to help the elderly people, according to their requirements from each old-age-home.
Food for All Chennai has raised 16k for this initiative which includes toothpaste, oil, wheelchair, walking stick, mosquito repellents, ceiling fan, saree, biscuit packets, dress. FFAC along with Helping hands is humanity Team visited the old age homes in Kodambakkam.
